As a growing and academically-oriented Christian school, we incorporate enriching activities like field trips and extra-curricular activities to educate the whole child. The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) appreciates the importance of these activities and has multiple fundraisers throughout the year to encourage greater participation and expanded opportunities for our children. Proceeds usually go toward field trips and extra-curricular activities although sometimes they are put toward specific school items depending on need. Our PAC fundraising team is headed up by two parents, Anna Hall and Jane Montgomery.

Growing Smiles Fundraiser

Christmas is almost upon us! So back by popular demand, we bring you our Growing Smiles Fundraiser!

These poinsettia, wreaths, and planters come from a Vancouver Island Nursery:  DeVry Greenhouses. They are great quality – so much better than the plants in supermarkets.

Order for yourself and as gifts. If you would like, we also encourage you to take orders from friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers. The more we order the more we raise. Money raised will go towards our school Swim Program and our new playground!

Year-Long Fundraisers

Hot lunch Program

This is a weekly lunch program dependent upon parent volunteers to put together the lunches and take them to classrooms. Hot lunches are ordered online on a monthly basis and can be paid for by cash, cheque or Paypal. For more information please click the link HERE.

Mabel’s Labels

When you apply Mabel’s Labels to your kids’ uniform pieces and school items, they will never wind up in the Lost & Found box. Or if they do, items will be easy to return to their owner. These labels are available in lots of fun designs and for all ages. They also have customizable phone cases, food container labels and more. Order online at https://mabelslabels.com/support-a-fundraiser/. Don’t forget to select Gaglardi Academy from the list in “support a fundraiser”!

Smencils

Smencils are fun, yummy-smelling pencil crayons that are sold at the office and sometimes after school in the hallway near the exit beside the gym. They are $2 each and come in different colours, smells, and themes. There are many varieties to choose from (Ninja Turtles, Frozen, Inside Out, to name a few…). These are very fun to use! Also available are Smens (smelly pens) ($4 ea.) and Smell-Gel crayons as well ($2 ea.)!

Thrifty Smile Cards

Smile Cards give PAC the opportunity to raise $2500 through Thrifty Foods’ Fundraising program. It doesn’t cost anything to join and it’s simple to use especially if you already shop at Thrifty Foods. All you have to do is change the way you pay at the checkout which isn’t hard to do. All money raised from the Smile Card program is designated for extra-curricular activities and transportation costs arising from school field trips.

How it works is this:

  • For every $100 spent on the Smile Card, Thrifty’s will donate $5 to Gaglardi Academy PAC.
  • Cards must be pre-loaded at the Customer Service Desk or with any cashier. The card must be loaded prior to having the grocery order rung in (they are two separate transactions).

Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately by calling Thrifty Foods Customer Service (250-544-1234 or 1-800-667-8280) or by going to any Thrifty Foods store. Once reported, existing funds on the card are locked. A replacement card must be obtained from a PAC executive member. Let them know you need a new card by emailing pac@gaglardiacademy.ca. Keep a record of your 19 digit card number, located on the back of the card, for reference in case of loss/theft.
